Our latest project was called Happy Packs. We filled brand new backpacks with stuffed animals, coloring supplies, craft kits and our books and deliverd them to Phoenix Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House for the kids who have to stay there for a long period of time. We wanted to give them something to do and we hoped that the happy packs would brighten their day and make them feel a little bit better.
Jonnie and Brookie were committed to purchasing
new shoes for every child at the East Valley Thomas J Pappas school for
the homeless. They felt that every child deserved a new pair of shoes.
Two years ago they donated 86 pairs of new shoes to the school and were
so touched by the children’s excitement that they wanted to do it
again. This past Christmas, after raising money from their performances,
donating 100% of money from the sales of their books and CD’s and
using some of their own savings, they were able to purchase 120 new pairs
of shoes for the children and throw them a pizza party. Along with their
friend Diana, they hand wrapped each pair of shoes with butcher paper
and decorated every box with Christmas pictures. They had a great time
serving the kids pizza and soda and distributing the shoes. Below are
some pictures of the event.

Here we are with our friend Diana getting ready to wrap all the shoes.

We wrapped every shoe box and colored each one with Christmas pictures. It was lots of fun!
